# What is contact enrichment?

Contact enrichment is adding details to a contact record from an outside source, such as a public professional profile or a company website. It can fill role, company, location and a photo, and for a company, what it does and recent news.

## What it cannot tell you

Enrichment shows who someone is in public. It cannot show what they said or what you promised; that comes from you.

## An example

You photograph Salma Qattan's card at the food logistics expo. Enriching her from her public profile can add her location in Dubai and her recent posts. Enriching Jalwa Fresh Logistics can add what it does: refrigerated trucking and bonded cold storage.

## In Marrow

Marrow looks a person up only when you ask, through a third party provider of public profile data, and each attempt counts as one lookup. Asking about a company, or for a brief before a meeting, also runs a company lookup when Marrow has no recent brief. Marrow is in Beta.
