# What is a digital business card?

A digital business card is contact information shared electronically rather than on paper, as a link, a QR code, a wallet pass or an NFC tap. The recipient saves the details without typing them.

## How it compares with paper

A digital card is easy to update: anyone who opens the link later sees the new role, though saved details stay as they were. A printed card can carry a QR code that opens it.

## What it does not carry

Neither kind says why you met or what you promised. The person receiving the card has to add that, soon.

## An example

At the hospitality investment forum, Noor Ghannam of Wadi Sakina Resorts shows a QR code on her phone. You scan it, and her details land in your contacts. The context does not: she is refitting the resort kitchens.

## In Marrow

Marrow reads a photo of a paper card into a person, and reads a QR code on the card ahead of the print. Marrow is in Beta.
