# What is network mapping?

Network mapping is laying out who you know and how they connect: to organisations, to each other, and to the people you want to reach. A network map answers questions such as who you know at a company and who could introduce you to someone.

## What form it takes

Some people draw a diagram. Others keep a spreadsheet by company or search their records by organisation and industry. A record you can query stays current as you add to it, while a diagram needs redrawing.

## An example

Tariq Benali of Marsa Legal is building a charter disputes practice and asks whether you know anyone who runs a shipping fleet. Your map shows Benedikt Aurell, Head of Fleet at Nordlys Shipping, whom you met over coffee at the port authority open day. You can offer a warm introduction.

## In Marrow

Marrow answers questions such as "who do I know at Nordlys Shipping" from your own record. Marrow is in Beta.
