# What is relationship memory?

Relationship memory is the accumulated record of your interactions with someone: what was discussed, what changed, and what each of you promised. Contact data says who a person is; relationship memory says where you stand with them.

## Contact data versus memory

Contact data is a name, role, company, email and phone. Relationship memory is where you met, who introduced you, what worried them and what you owe them. It exists when someone writes it down.

## An example

After coffee at the port authority open day, a useful record of Benedikt Aurell of Nordlys Shipping is short, specific and dated: he is replacing the fleet's maintenance contractor before winter, and you promised to introduce a marine surveyor by the end of the month.

## In Marrow

A voice note after that coffee becomes this record, filed against the person, with the promise kept as a follow up. Marrow is in Beta.
