# How to follow up after GITEX Global 2026

GITEX Global 2026 runs from 7 to 11 December in Dubai: the Summit on 7 December, then four Expo days at Expo City Dubai. Note each conversation in two minutes, clear the notes every evening, and write to the people who matter within forty eight hours.

GITEX Global 2026 runs from 7 to 11 December 2026 in Dubai: the GITEX Summit on Monday 7 December, then the Expo from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 December. The Expo days are at Expo City Dubai; the organiser's site states no venue for the Summit as of 10 October 2026. For the rest, use the [organiser's site](https://www.gitex.com/).

## Five days in two parts: Monday's notes are cleared before the Expo opens

The plan treats the Summit day apart. Whoever you meet on Monday is noted that evening and written to by Wednesday, before four days of Expo conversations bury them. From Tuesday the rhythm repeats: talk, note, move on, sort in the evening.

## Before Sunday 6 December: decide what every note records

Who. Name, company and role, spelled from the badge or the card.
Why it mattered. The problem they are working on, in one line and in their words.
The promise. What you said you would send, check or introduce, and by which day.
When. Summit Monday, or which Expo day. Name the day, since five days blur.
Something to place them. What they showed you, or who introduced you.

The same weekend, write to people you already know will be in Dubai that week. Offer a day and a time, not "let's find each other".

## On the floor: no next conversation until the last one is noted

The habit takes two minutes. Photograph the card, then say the note out loud, promise first: "Ines Varga, Tilde Learning, wants Arabic voice input for school courses, send her the pilot notes by Thursday."

That sentence holds a name, a company, a need, a promise and a day. Conversations that went nowhere do not need the two minutes.

## Evenings: five short sessions stop the pile from forming

Monday evening is for the Summit notes alone. From Tuesday to Thursday, each evening runs the same way:

1. Match each card to its note, and add a line to any card that has none.
2. Sort the day's people: those you owe something or who could buy, hire, fund or introduce; those worth knowing; polite exchanges.
3. Keep tomorrow's promises tonight, while the other person is still at the Expo.

Friday evening is the last sort.

## The week after: first messages inside forty eight hours

Each day's first group hears from you within forty eight hours. Monday's Summit people by Wednesday, Tuesday's by Thursday, Wednesday's by Friday. Thursday's people hear from you by Saturday 12 December and Friday's by Sunday 13 December; a short note then is enough.

Each message names where you met, one detail from the conversation, what you promised, and one next step with a day.

In the week of 14 December, the people worth knowing get one short note that asks for nothing.

The second touch goes on Monday 21 December, with something new in it; if someone said the year end is full, date it in January instead. After the second message, let silence be the answer.

## Three messages you can send as written

### The promise, kept within forty eight hours

> Ines, we spoke at GITEX on Wednesday about Arabic voice input for the school courses at Tilde Learning. The pilot notes I promised are attached, including what the teachers asked for in the first month. Would a call next Tuesday or Wednesday be useful?

### The introduction you offered

> Yusuf, at GITEX on Thursday you asked whether I knew founders working on cold storage for farm produce in East Africa. Amani Wekesa, founder of Mavuno Agritech in Nairobi, is the person I mentioned, and I have copied her here. Amani, Yusuf is an Investment Associate at Bosphorus Growth Partners. I will let the two of you find a time.

### The second touch

> Ines, one more note after GITEX. The school that ran the pilot has agreed to speak with you directly, if that would help. If January suits you better, say so and I will write again then.

## How Marrow helps

Marrow is an app for iPhone and Android, in Beta. Send it a voice note, a card photo or a screenshot of a chat, and it files the person, the context and the follow up with its date. Ask for a brief before a meeting and it gives you the history, what is open and their company.

Marrow drafts messages when asked; you send them. If leads from the Expo belong in a shared company system, use that system, because Marrow keeps one person's record and has no shared workspace.
