A promise on Wednesday is a proposal on Thursday the fifteenth
This is a fictional worked week with invented people. You send an email screenshot, a voice note and a stack of cards from the floor, ask for a brief before a call, and the follow ups come due on the days you set, with a draft for the one you promised.
This week is fictional. The people, companies and events are invented, drawn from the cast this site uses for every example, and nobody here is a customer.
You are a business development consultant in Dubai. On Thursday 24 September you met Salma Qattan of Jalwa Fresh Logistics at the food logistics expo, and a cold storage pilot is taking shape. The week below runs from Wednesday 7 October to Thursday 15 October. The screens come from one capture session on Thursday 8 October, so a date on a screen is the date of that day.
Wednesday 7 October: an email thread becomes a dated promise
Ravindra Pillai of Kavach Pharma Distribution, whom you met at the supply chain panel in Riyadh, wrote on Monday about a cold chain audit of the Chennai hub and asked for a short proposal. You replied on Tuesday that it would come by Thursday 15 October, with two scope options.
You screenshot the thread and send it to Marrow without a caption.

Marrow describes the people in the thread, logs it once under its subject and turns the promise into a follow up for the fifteenth.
Thursday 8 October: a taxi, and the Follow ups tab
At the agritech demo day, Amani Wekesa of Mavuno Agritech pitches third. She needs cold storage partners in the Gulf, which is what Salma’s company sells. In the taxi you send a voice note saying so, and asking to be reminded to send Amani an intro to Salma next Tuesday.
The transcript sits in the bubble. Amani is filed, the need is a note, and the follow up lands on Tuesday 13 October.
The Follow ups tab shows the day in three groups. An overdue question for Ines Varga gets answered. The deck for Yusuf Demirkan is due today, so you send it and tap Done. A reminder to renew the trade licence is due tomorrow.
Friday 9 October: a stack of cards
Omran Fakhoury of Helios Rooftop Solar gave you a card at the renewable energy expo. You photograph it, and Marrow saves his name, role and contact details, then asks whether to enrich him from his public profile. You answer not now, because each lookup counts against your plan.
Three more cards follow in one message, captioned “Three cards from this week”: Hana Petrosyan from the urban design biennale, Daria Kowal, who interviewed you after the panel, and Benedikt Aurell from the port authority open day. Marrow saves each one, then asks which of them to look up. You tap Not now.
Monday 12 October: a brief before the pricing call
The weekly brief replaces the daily one and arrives at 08:00, the default time, where “Where Marrow reaches you” points. It lists what is due and who is going quiet.
Salma’s pilot pricing is due today. You ask “Prep me for Salma Qattan”. The answer gives how you met, the call on 1 October about the pilot scope and the pricing you owe her. Marrow has no recent brief of her company, so the prep also runs a company lookup, which counts as one.
Tuesday 13 October: the draft you promised
The reminder arrives for Amani’s intro. You ask Marrow to draft it, and the draft comes back marked not sent. You change a line, copy it and send it yourself, then mark the follow up Done.
Thursday 15 October: the proposal goes out
The daily brief lists Ravindra’s proposal as due. It goes before lunch, and you tap Done.
What the week needed from you
- A message to Marrow within a minute of each conversation, while the detail is fresh.
- A read of each reply, which is where a misheard name shows and one line corrects it.
- A question when you want a brief, because it comes on request and not before a meeting on its own.
No field was typed on the floor, and Marrow sent nothing on your behalf. Marrow is in Beta.
