Marrow can go and find the next person

Marrow, in Beta, searches public profiles and the open web for people by role, company or school and builds a list you review. Dex, folk and Mesh describe searching contacts you already hold; Clay's page describes data infrastructure for go to market teams.

Marrow is a personal CRM that can also look for people you have not met. This post says what that does, what other apps say on their own pages, and where they are stronger.

What Marrow research does

You ask in the chat for the people you need, in plain words: heads of procurement at food companies in Dubai, or people from a given school at a given company. Marrow searches public profiles and the open web in the background and puts what it finds on one list, under More, Research.

You review the list. Add the people you want to People, dismiss the rest, look one up from the list, or export it as a spreadsheet or as contact cards.

Each search counts as one lookup against your plan, however many steps it runs. A search can name the wrong person, so check each one. Marrow sends nothing to the people it finds, and it does not look for their email addresses or phone numbers. Which plan includes this is on the pricing page.

What the others say on their own pages

Read on 15 October 2026. Where a page does not say, this post says so instead of guessing.

App What its own pages say
Dex Copilot can “Search for contacts by name, email, job title, location, company, or education”1. Finding people outside your own contacts is not stated on that page as of 15 October 20262. The pricing page lists research credits on each plan; what a credit covers is not stated there3
folk The Research Assistant “enriches profiles directly in folk” and can run “in bulk across a group”; finding new people with it is not stated on that page4. One click enrichment finds email, phone number, company name and job title for contacts you pick5
Mesh Nexus is “an optional add-on feature of Mesh” for questions about your network; finding people you do not know is not stated on that page6. Claude can search and review the contacts and notes you hold in Mesh7
Clay The sales data platform at clay.com describes “Infrastructure to get any data, run agentic workflows, and launch GTM plays”, with data from 150+ providers8

Clay here means the sales data platform at clay.com. Its page is written for sales and go to market teams.

Choose them if

  • You need to find and enrich data at team scale. Clay’s page says “Find and enrich data from 150+ providers”8, which a personal record is not built to match.
  • You need email addresses and phone numbers for contacts you pick. folk’s one click enrichment lists both5. Marrow looks for neither.
  • Your question is about people already in your network, inside an app that also connects email and calendar. Dex lists “Email & Calendar Integrations”9 and Mesh’s free plan imports from email and calendar10. Marrow reads no mailbox.

Choose Marrow if

  • You want to describe the people you need in the chat, by role, company or school, and get a list you add from.
  • You want the people you meet and the people you are looking for in one app on your phone.
  • You accept that a search can name the wrong person, and that you check each one.

Get Marrow on your phone.

Install the app, sign in with your email, and send it the last business card you are still carrying. Marrow is in Beta.
