Let your AI assistant work on your own contacts

Marrow, in Beta, lets you connect your own AI assistant, Claude Code for example, to your record over MCP: it finds people, adds them, logs interactions and sets follow ups, with every write checked. Dex, folk and Mesh have Claude connections with a different reach.

You can connect your own AI assistant, Claude Code for example, to your Marrow record over MCP. This post says what the connection does, which assistants can use it today, where it stops, and where other apps reach further.

What a connected assistant can do in Marrow

  • Find people, read a person in full, and list what is due.
  • Add a person, log an interaction, and add a note.
  • Add, move and complete follow ups.
  • Every write is checked, undoable and shown in your chat history.

The assistant acts as you and only you. The key belongs to your account alone, and you can revoke it at any time. Calls are limited per minute and per day, and each call is logged on your account without addresses, numbers or notes.

It also stops short on purpose. No tool deletes a person, sends a message, or reads email or a calendar. A doubtful write, such as a duplicate, is refused with a plain reason and nothing is written.

You make the key in the Telegram chat with the command /connect, then add it with the address to your assistant. It works with Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, Cursor, VS Code agent mode and Windsurf, which each take an address and a key. claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile app cannot connect yet: their custom connectors sign in with OAuth, which Marrow does not offer. Marrow connects with a key, not through a connector directory, and the operator switches the connection on. Which plan includes this is on the pricing page.

What the others say on their own pages

Read on 15 October 2026.

App What its own pages say
Dex The MCP server “requires the Dex Professional plan”. It lists Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Claude.ai among its clients, reads contacts, notes, reminders, calendars and email metadata, and writes contacts, notes, reminders and calendar events, including bulk deletion of contacts1
folk The help article connects folk to Claude with a hosted server and a sign in. Your AI tool “gets the same access as your folk account”: it searches people, companies and groups, creates and updates contacts, notes and custom fields, and moves deals. The article names no plan2
Mesh “Mesh for Claude” is added from Claude’s connector directory. Claude can search contacts, notes, emails, events and reminders, create and update contacts, groups and notes, merge duplicates and archive contacts. The page names no plan3
Monica The home page says “Monica v3 exposes an MCP server, so you can point your own assistant at your own data if you want to”4

Choose them if

  • You want Claude to work across contacts, calendar and email metadata. Dex lists all three1. Marrow reads no mailbox and no calendar. Dex asks for its Professional plan.
  • You want to connect from Claude with a sign in, not a key. Mesh describes Claude’s connector directory3, and folk an OAuth sign in2. Marrow’s setup is a key and an address, closer to a developer’s task, and claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile app cannot connect to it yet.
  • You want Claude to move deals along. folk lists that2. Marrow’s deals have a status and a timeline, with no stages.

Choose Marrow if

  • You want your AI assistant to work on a personal record that already holds your voice notes, cards and screenshots, filed as people with their context.
  • You want a narrow connection: no deletes, no mailbox, no calendar, and every write checked and shown in your chat.
  • You work in Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or Windsurf and want your own record there.
  • You want to see the calls your assistant made and switch the key off at once.
